I got 16 hours of sleep today!!! I went to sleep at midnight and woke up at 4 today. I guess I needed some rest! I just had some leftover italian food from my graduation dinner and for desert, I decided to splurge and buy pop tarts and a cherry coke. I use to never drink cola because I didn't like it, but a few months ago, I drank 4 cherry cokes in one week, more cola than I have ever drank, atleast- since I was a kid (that's all that was ever in the fridge). So, now that I've rambled about random facts, I guess I can get to the meaningful rambling...the stuff that you've been waiting for. . .
Yesterday, I graduated with my Master of Arts degree and the next big step is finding a university where I can get my Ph. D in Couple and Family Therapy. Yes, that's my next goal, it's just a matter of time before I get accepted into a program. Until then, I am working here in NY. This summer, I am going to take the GRE, which to be honest, frightens me just a little. Right now, I have job security, so that's the first step. The second is getting a part-time job doing Art Therapy with Adolescents. Third, is relocating to the university that accepts me into their Ph. D program.
My plans to go home have recently changed, instead of going home today with my parents, I am going home in three weeks. I am looking forward to spending about 10 days at home. My nephew will be turning three and I can't wait to see him and his little brother who will be turning 1 in June! Speaking of birthdays, I will be turning 29 in June. . .just one year shy of the big 30-can you believe that? Also, it's been ten years since I graduated from high school. It's hard to believe that I'm living in NY, so far away from where my life began. . . It was great to have my parents here for the big day. I only wish I could have convinced them to stay a few days after graduation, so I could take them into the city to see the Empire State building and a few other sights. Next time, I hope. My dad said they wouldn't be back until I decide to get married. Wow, they are thinking about that? Hmmm...
