it's been a while
since i've had any time
to write anything
about my life.
so i thought i'd be quick,
just get to the point
and say what it is
that's been on my heart
i found a buckeye tree in long island, ny
such a surprise that i found another one
this morning, on my way to work
i picked up the shell and memories
flooded my mind
all from my childhood
this put a smile on my face
and i was happy
my ten year high school reunion is this weekend
i just want to see a few old friends
and remind myself,
exactly where my roots began
and one more thing, I shouldn't forget
my brother is in iraq
remember him and say a little prayer
if you can.
